What is Physiologic Insulin Resensitization?

Diabetic Centers for Excellence uses Physiologic Insulin Resensitization (PIR) to treat diabetes and the resultant metabolic disorders. PIR fights insulin resistance at its source by dynamically administering insulin in pulses in such a way that biomimics the natural, rhythmic functioning of a healthy pancreas.

As a result, blood sugar (glucose) can more easily enter the body’s cells to be converted into energy. Increased cellular energy allows tissues damaged by diabetic complications to begin to heal and regenerate. This results in improvement in neuropathy, kidney function, blood sugar levels, and many other benefits.

reported improvement in at least one diabetic complication

According to a study from the Schull Institute focused on patients treated with PIR:

Schull Institute Study Insulin Infusion Therapy on Diabetic Complications (Oct 27, 2015) Retrospective, observational study (n=60) reported.

  • Do you take my insurance?
Our providers work with most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid. When you provide your insurance information, they can review your policy and verify coverage and availability.
  • What’s the first step?
The first step is to register online and schedule a consultation with one of our providers.
  • What does the consultation consist of?
You will meet with one of our providers who will review your medical/health history and explain the treatment in more depth. This consultation will help our providers create a customized care plan. Typical consultations take 30 to 60 minutes. • How often will I be taking treatments?
Everyone is different. During your consultation, our providers will determine your care plan and course of treatment.
