  • Compounding is a process where medications are made to meet a patient's individual needs. When a medication is in short supply, compounding pharmacies can make versions of high-demand medications. This includes semaglutide and tirzepatide, which are the same as Ozempic®, Wegovy®, and Mounjaro®. These medications are made by pharmacies that meet state and FDA requirements. Compounded drugs are not subject to FDA approval.

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide should not be used by patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. They are also not recommended for people with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.

    Contraindications:

These medications should only be prescribed by a healthcare provider who has reviewed your medical history and current health status. Regular follow-up appointments are important to monitor progress and adjust treatment as needed. This helps maximize benefits and minimize risks.
